I was hired to spearhead Boxlight's eMarketing initiatives including bulk email, eCommerce, eProcurement projects such as the DOD (Department of Defense) eMall and partnerships such as Amazon.com. Although Boxlight had previously been heavily invested in print advertising and trade shows, eMarketing became their primary marketing channel. I also became, by default, the primary copy writer for commercial email.
I was responsible for the design, execution, and monitoring of dynamic bulk email campaigns and providing sales staff with detailed customer profiles. TechTips is an example of an email publication that I designed, wrote, and executed. TechTips and PRO!, both publications that I originated, were responsible for reversing the trend of decreasing subscriptions and increasing opt-outs from Boxlight's house list.
I was project head of CAN-SPAM compliance and developed an automated list management process that maintained an audit trail (including IP addresses) of everyone would subscribed or unsubscribed, to serve as legal documentation should it ever become necessary.
I designed and implemented a SQL Server database to accommodate building demographic & psychographic profiles of prospects and customers. The database also managed subscriptions, preferences, and opt-outs.
I wrote an eMarketing plan to overhaul Boxlight's web site and eCommerce processes, bringing them inline with best practices for both information architecture and site usability, wrote numerous project specifications to implement the plan over a six month period.
Finally, I monitored the effectiveness of Boxlight's marketing efforts by compiling detailed metrics on lead generation, web sales, site traffic, and email campaigns.
