ByteStudio ByteStudio, located on Bainbridge Island, is a web development shop specializing in Microsoft technologies. The company's primary client's are Microsoft (PartnerBase) and Compaq (Frontline Partnership). Both are collaborative marketing applications that allow Microsoft and Compaq to specify marketing projects internationally, allocate funds, and track metrics. ByteStudio, Inc. | I was one of a small team of programmers responsible for the successful upgrade of PartnerBase. My responsibilities included developing project specifications, coding in DHTML, ASP, SQL stored procedures, testing, and deployment to production.
ByteStudio occupied a suite in the San Juan building overlooking the Winlsow ferry dock and Eagle Harbor. On Friday afternoons we would race scale cars on a track sprawled across the floor. ByteStudio was hard-hit by the economic slump following the September 11th disaster and Compaq's merger with Hewlett-Packard. Numerous projects were placed on indefinite hold which necessitated radically reducing the staff. A shame; it was a good company with a good crew.
